Cassandra "Sandy" Gard, 75, died on March 18, 2021, at home. She was born on August 15, 1945, to Willis and Wilma (Burkhardt) Gard in Baker City, Oregon.

After graduating from high school, she moved to Michigan and became a nurse. She was a caring nurse for over 50 years. Sandy was a good friend, loving nana, and caring dog owner. Her interests and hobbies included camping, cooking, bird watching, spiritual growth, gardening, taking photos, golfing, traveling, reading books, collecting coins, sending cards, and cheering on the Detroit Lions and Tigers. Sandy had a beautiful smile. She will be remembered for her quick wit, say-it-like-it-is attitude, and contagious laugh.

She is survived by her two brothers, Carl Gard and Joe (Annlyn) Gard; her nephew, Jeremy (Jennifer) Gard; great-nieces Spencer and Charlsie Gard; good friends John and Bridgett Kane and their children: Goddaughter Emily (Mike) Paige; Eric Kane; Sarah (Kyle) Chambers, and their children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilma and Willis, and her sister-in-law Steffi Gard.
