Carolyn Lach age 78 of Stanwood, Michigan passed away peacefully with her daughter and granddaughter at her side on January 12, 2019 at the place Carol had recently called home, Kelsey Nursing and Rehab in Lakeview, Michigan. Carol was born on March 12, 1940 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was the oldest of 8 children to Brant and Dorothy (Pierce) Venlet. Carol was kind, compassionate, loving and supportive. She had tremendous love for her family and friends. Over the years Carol touched many people's lives. She was well-known in the community and surrounding areas. She provided child care for many people's children while they worked. Carol absolutely loved watching the Detroit Tigers. She never missed a game. Most recently coloring became Carol's passion. She started a coloring club at the nursing home, and with her gentle heart & hands, she encouraged others to join in until she had several residents participating. Surviving Carol are her 3 children: Danielle Mumby (Allen Lutterloh) of Morley, Michael Venlet of Stanwood, and Jeff Lach of Drummonds, TN; 6 grandchildren, Kayla Mumby, Auztin Mumby (Sabra Leonard) of Morley, Nicholas (Paige) Plaunt, Jeff Lach Jr., Zachery Venlet of Grand Rapids, and Michael (Ciera) Venlet of Stanwood; 1 brother, Brant (Kris) Venlet of Wyoming, MI; 4 sisters, Mary Murtland of Morley, Barb Fitzgerald (Ron Wilson) Big Rapids, Janet (Bob) Proctor and Sally Jack of Lakeview; as well as several nieces and nephews. Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Lach; her parents, Brant & Dorothy Venlet; sisters, Pat Hasper and Dorothy Hemminger. A memorial service will be held to celebrate the life of Carol at 2pm on January 25, 2019, at the American Legion Hall located at 2560 Northland Dr. in Morley, MI.
