IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carol Ann
Harmon
November 12, 1953 – September 8, 2025
Carol Ann Harmon, a beacon of joy and the life of every family gathering, has taken her final bow on September 8, 2025. Born in the heart of Grand Rapids, MI, on November 12, 1953, Carol's infectious laughter has been spreading delight for nearly 72 years until she passed away peacefully in Dorr, MI. She waged a valiant and dignified battle against cancer, facing it with the same humor and grace that characterized her entire life.
Carol was the cherished wife of Henry Harmon, her partner in crime and laughter, who will miss her ability to find the funny in the everyday. Together, they raised a troupe of Harmon comedians: Wendy (Jordan) Austin, Opal (Rudy) Oaxaca, Eric (Sara) Harmon, and the one and only, Cathy Harmon. Each of her children inherited her quick wit and the uncanny ability to make others smile, ensuring her legacy of laughter lives on.
As an adoring grandmother, Carol's humor and love blossomed with her grandkids, Holly, Adeline, Levi, Maddie, James, Allison, Rudy, Mayan, Alexis (Luke, great granson)and Aviana (Corey). She was their biggest cheerleader, whether at races, mud runs, or simply life's many hurdles. She took the title of "awesome grandma" seriously, often being the mastermind behind the most epic and memorable family cookouts.
Professionally, Carol spent her career in home health care, where she didn't just care for people; she brightened their days with her humor and compassion. Her patients often said they healed faster from laughter than medicine when Carol was around. She had a knack for turning mundane tasks into comedic sketches, and her colleagues cherished her ability to lighten the atmosphere even on the toughest days.
Carol's interests weren't limited to making her family and patients laugh; she was an avid supporter of her family's adventurous endeavors. She was the loudest and proudest on the sidelines, cheering on her family during races and mud runs. Her enthusiasm was so infectious that it often seemed she was the one powering their legs through the final stretch.
The words that best describe Carol are funny, loving, and friendly, but even these feel like an understatement. She was the person who could walk into a room and instantly become everyone's friend. Her humor was the kind that warmed your heart and left you with a smile long after she'd left the room.
Carol's life was a masterclass in finding the joy in every moment, and she would want us to celebrate her journey with laughter rather than tears. Her spirit, her jokes, and her unconditional love have left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her.
So, as we bid farewell to the incomparable Carol Ann Harmon, let's honor her memory by living as she did—with love, laughter, and a zest for life that can never be extinguished. Carol, you may have exited stage left, but the echoes of your laughter will resonate forever. Thank you for the smiles, the giggles, and the outright guffaws. Curtain down, applause ongoing, and laughter everlasting.
