Carmelita Contreras, age 76, of Kentwood passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior on November 29, 2022.

Carmelita was born and raised in Texas and moved to West Michigan in her late 20's. She loved spending time calling and visiting with family. Most of her vacations were spent with family in Texas, Florida and California. She worked for nearly 15 years at Amway before she retired to help take care of her grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her parents Carlos and Maria Contreras, twin baby brother Aniceto, eldest brother Romulo Contreras, sisters Ricarda Trevino, Dolores Borrego, Juanita Alvarado and Agapita Jimenez. Carmelita is survived by her only daughter and beloved son-in-law Jessica and Ben Orange, two precious grandchildren Liliana and Jacob, loving sister Maria Hernandez, brother Jesus and wife Janie Contreras, sister-in-law Lucy Contreras and many adored nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Resurrection Life Church in Grandville at 11am on Wednesday, December 7, with visitation one hour prior.

Those wishing to offer expressions of sympathy are encouraged to make a contribution at the memorial service to ResLife, for the House of Hope ministry, a home to rehabilitate girls and women who have been subject to human trafficking.
