Carla Joy Deemter of Holland Michigan, age 57, left this world for a better place
November 12 th 2022 during her courageous battle with Breast Cancer. Even
though she struggled with the demons of mental illness her whole adult life, she
handled the loss of her brother Craig, mother Patricia and father Richard with
grace and strength. She drew strength from her faith in Jesus and had the Bible
collection to prove it.

There were times in her life when the disease took over, but she always fought
back and we are thankful for the times when the "real Carla" came to the surface.
The real Carla was generous, kind hearted, thoughtful and smart. She loved her
family and friends unconditionally and was known for literally giving her last
dollar to someone who needed it more than her. She enjoyed Bible study, cooking
with mom's cook books, shopping and talking on the phone (sometimes too much,
LOL) Carla enjoyed writing letters and became quite famous for her random
letters and cards that she sent to family and friends.

Carla will be lovingly remembered and missed by her brother Jon and many
friends, cousins, aunts and Uncle Dave. Particularly her aunt Daisy who became
her surrogate mom and fielded the random phone calls and helped all she could
for the last 3 years.

Jon would also like to thank the team members at ACT and Community Mental
Health for all the help over many years. We would have been lost without their
help. These dedicated people do some of the most frustrating and often times
thankless work you can imagine.

No more pain. No more struggle. No more cancer. No more medication. No more
damn voices in your head.
