September 13, 2013 Carl D. Greene of Canadian Lakes, MI passed with great joy into the hands of God on September 13, 2013 after eight years of struggle with Alzheimer's Disease. His is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ruth; daughters Cathy (Paul) Coury and Heidi (Jim) Prior as well as grandsons Spencer, Gabriel and Nicholas Coury; Seth, Aiden and Noah Prior; his brother Robert (Rosie) Greene and William (Annette) Greene as well as many nieces and nephews. Carl retired from Steelcase in 1994 and he and Ruth moved to Canadian Lakes where he was active in various golf leagues, a pool league and The United Church of Big Rapids. He was an ordained elder in the Presbyterian Church and served on the Governing Board of The United Church. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at the United Church of Big Rapids, 120 S. State Street, Pastor Jon Fleming officiating. Friends are invited to greet the family in the parlor of the church one hour prior to the service.
