Mrs. Caridad Ramirez of Wyoming, Michigan, passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 31, 2020. She was born in Havana, Cuba to Filiberto and Maria Rodriguez, the eldest of two children. Her parents and sister, Ramona, preceded her in death and joyfully received her in heaven, as well as many friends and her beloved grandson. Caridad emigrated, with her husband and the four children born in Cuba, in March of 1962. The family lived in Brooklyn, NY and welcomed another daughter before settling in Grand Rapids, MI in 1965 and adding two more children to their family. These beloved children survive her, including; Maria Ramirez, Elizabeth Rivera, Rosendo Ramirez, Jr (Lynne), Daisy Cruz (Abner), Marilyn Ramirez (Johnny), Jigsey Veliz Ramirez (Ernesto), Kiko Ramirez (Robin). She is also survived by her former husband Rosendo Ramirez. Caridad enjoyed the special relationships she had with all 17 of her grandchildren, including; Rodolfo Pou III (Sharon), Esteban Pou (deceased), Eduardito Rivera, Angelica Rivera (Jason), Sara Schader (Mike), Christina Stephenson (Duane), Nicholas Cruz, Aaron Cruz (Samantha), Zachary Ramirez (Jaclyn), Francisco Gausachs, Jorge Gausachs, Kelsey Ramirez (JohnPaul), Eric Ramirez, Erlandy Veliz Grandal (Leslie), Acacia Ramirez, Tanieka Ramirez, and Christian Veliz Angulo. Caridad has 14 great-grandchildren whom she whole-heartedly loved; Lauren, Brady, Logan, Sophia, Kayden, Dominic, Yaneli, Yliana, Mia, Jada, Willow, Hannah, Jordan, Winnie and Joshua. Also, 3 great-great grandchildren; Emory , McKinley and Ryker. She enjoyed many happy times with all the babies in her life. Nothing brought her more pure joy. She had a special place in her heart for family fur babies; Mystic, Ebony, Sultan, Ollie and Biskit. She was widely considered a fantastic cook and hosted many gatherings with her signature Cuban cusine. She passed down these traditions and recipes to her children. She enjoyed playing bingo and made many lifelong friends at these weekly games. She also made many friends in her travels. Caridad's family wishes to extend extreme gratitude to Toni Haugen and Elisha Damber and the staff that attended her in her final months from Grace Hospice (Hayley, Linda, Denise) and Senior Managed Care (Jean and Marta). You were all very kind and gentle and your help was invaluable. A Celebration of Life event will be scheduled for a future date.
