Bruce Earl Bjornseth, of Ada, MI, died Friday, June 3, 2016 from Progressive Supra Nuclear Palsy. Born in Owosso, MI, Feb. 1, 1942, to Kathryn & Earl Bjornseth, he was raised in Perry, MI. Growing up, Bruce enjoyed spending time with his Grandmother Helen, where he started learning to cook, helping his father with home remodeling projects and many adventures with his high school friends. After graduating from Perry High School in 1960, he completed 2 yrs of Mechanical Technology training from Flint Junior College in 1962; he received a BS in Industrial Ed. in 1966 and a MA in Industrial Ed. from WMU in 1972. Bruce taught Technical Drawing for Forest Hills Central HS from 1966-70; and at FH Northern HS from 1970-78. He worked as an Applications Engineer for Rapistan Corp. from 1978-83 and then began his teaching career at Grand Rapids Junior College, developing the CAD-CAM program. He retired from GRCC in 2011. Bruce also received a Private Pilot License in 1992 and a Residential Builders License in 1997. As one of our neighbors once remarked, ":Bruce is a renaissance man, and anything he sets his mind to he achieves." He was very active and enjoyed many hobbies including: wood working, cooking, running, kayaking, jewelry making and riding his Harley. He is survived by his wife Sheri, children Dave, Anna and her husband Scott Bone, brother Bob Bjornseth, numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews and he was preceded n death by sister Jan Kemerling. To celebrate his life there will be a Memorial Brunch on Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016 from 2 to 5 at Grand Volute in Lowell, MI. Please RSVP by July 17, to Sheri at sbjornseth@comcast.net.
