Harwood, Brian 10/7/1967 - 3/4/2019 Grand Rapids Brian Harwood passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends in the early morning hours of March 4th, 2019 after an extended illness. Brian was born October 7th, 1967 and was the youngest of five children. Brian was preceded in death by sister Beth Reed, brother Kenneth (Reggie) Harwood and mother Myra Faulx. Brian is survived by his son Chaim Dejonge, brother Paul, sister Angela, father Roger and several nieces and nephews, and his faithful Doberman Zoso. Brian had several very close friends that we would like to mention and thank for their love and support over the years. Kim W., Leanne K. and Steve (Stavros) H. Brian was an extremely accomplished musician, composer and teacher. Somewhat of a musical prodigy, he was self-taught in acoustic, classical and electric guitar, and the majority of his adult life was dedicated to his musical passion. Brian was a voracious reader and highly intellectual. Although a very private person, those who he allowed into his life will remember him for his kindness, sardonic humor, quick wit and gentle soul. Brian was taken far too soon, but left an indelible mark on the world. He has left his music and songwriting for us to remember and see the world through his eyes and imagination. Brian was a very unique and gentle soul who was perpetually seeking meaning and beauty in this world and will be forever missed by family and friends.
