Brett Alan Smith passed away at his home on June 6, 2023.  Brett was born March 28th,1965, in Kalamazoo, the son of Marilyn Smith and the late Don Smith.

Brett is survived by his mother; daughter Heather Smith (Todd Schten); son Kane Smith; siblings, Gary, Steve (deceased) Gail, Diane, Don and Julie; and many nieces and nephews.  Brett had many friends over the years and was particularly close to Mandi Harjala; Kip Kerby and Ron Burza.

Brett enjoyed growing up at Mill Lake in Gobles where he swam daily and fished as often as he could year round .  Brett worked most of his adult life as a tree trimmer and could shimmy up a tree with very little effort.

At his request, cremation has taken place and there will not be a funeral or memorial service.  Those who wish to make a donation to honor Brett may do so to the American Diabetes Foundation; Hanger Orthotics and Prosthetics, 2318 Gull Rd Suite A, Kalamazoo, MI 49048; or the charity of their choice.
