Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Brent D. Geldersma announce that he has passed away and now rejoice that he has gone to Heaven and is now holding hands with Grandpa John Van Blooys. Brent passed away peacefully Thursday Dec. 3, 2020 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was born in Grand Rapids, May 10th, 1983 to Lisa Ann McKellar (Van Blooys).
Brent was born under unique circumstances and with that, Brent lived life to the fullest and with a lot of zest. He loved the outdoors and being out in the boonies. He never said no to a challenge and proved that he had what it takes in whatever he did. Whether it was working on cars or taking on that big mud hole out on the trails, he made it his own. He loved all things automotive with a particular love for the Ford Powerstroke Diesel, ohhh and his shoes. Brent still carries his love for his brothers Zachary and Trevor and was a big influence for them. It's always an adventure when the three of them were together. The key phrase was… Don't tell Mom!
Brent is survived by his Mother, Lisa Ann McKellar (Van Blooys) and Robert McKellar, Brothers, Trevor Hulley and Zachary Jansheski. Grandmother Annetta Van Blooys, Aunts and Uncles Mike Van Blooys, Tom Van Blooys, Jim and Pat (Van Blooys) Walker, Rick and Linda (Van Blooys) Falkowski. Many Cousins… there is a lot of them… you know who you are. Grandparents Jack and Dorothy Geldersma, Father Mark Geldersma , Great Aunt Donna Chrisman, Uncle Wayne and Aunt Lisa Geldersma,.
Brent is preceded in death by his beloved Grandfather John Van Blooys and Aunt Paula Skwarek (Van Blooys).
Brent's family would like to thank the caring staff at Spectrum Meijer Heart. Thank you for your comfort through this difficult time.
Brent will be cremated and held at home for now with celebrations of his life to follow at a later time.
Those wishing to offer expressions of kindness are encouraged to make a memorial contribution to the Motts Children Hospital, 1540 E Hospital Dr, Ann Arbor, MI 48109.
Brent… Go rest high on that mountain… your work and inspiration on earth is done. Peace be with you Son and Brother.
