Brenda Sue Plichta of Muskegon passed away on September 4, 2018 after a short battle with cancer. She was born Brenda Westerlund in Muskegon, Michigan to the late Norman and Lois Westerlund. Prior to her retirement, Brenda worked for the Department of Human Services where her passion was helping the elderly in need. Brenda enjoyed playing on a pool league for Rusty Spoke and more recently her Monday golf league, along with spending time with her family. Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life, Charles Plichta, Sr.; her mother, Lois Westerlund and her father, Norman Westerlund. She is survived by her daughter, Shauna (John) Gorajec, her grandsons, Josh and Avery Gorajec, her girl, Taylor Strandberg, her sister, Judy Sheneman, brothers, Eric (Terri) Westerlund, Alan (Sue) Westerlund, Randy (Lois Ann) Westerlund, Bryan Westerlund, Kevin Westerlund, Theron (Margaret) Westerlund and Kim Westerlund, along with many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at the Rusty Spoke (her pool team's home) 2411 Hall Road on Friday, September 7, 2018 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Memorial contributions can be made to the Harbor Hospice Poppen House.
