Obituary

Bradley D. Ochsankehl of Grand Rapids, MI, age 60, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 10, 2021.

Brad was born to William and JoAnn (Decker) Ochsankehl on August 16, 1960, in Muskegon, MI. He was one of four children in the family. He was a graduate of Ottawa Hills High School Class of 1978 and attended Western Michigan University.

Brad had a long successful career in marketing and advertising following in his father's footsteps, even running the Florida and Detroit offices when he first started. One thing that truly made him so successful was his belief that clients were not just clients-- they were friends. He treated everyone with kindness and respect.

It is cliché to say Brad was larger than life, but for all who knew him he was just that. His spirit of loving unconditionally, everyone in his life, and of giving and sharing to everyone he knew was a gift felt by all. He had profound optimism and a strong faith that despite any challenge, never waivered. He was an inspiration to all who knew him. Brad was an amazing husband, father, son, brother and uncle.

When he was not working, Brad enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a passionate U of M fan and rarely missed a home game with his oldest daughter to cheer on the Maize & Blue! In addition to cheering on his team, Brad enjoyed golfing with his youngest daughter and hanging out with family and friends. He was the life of every party.

Brad is survived by his loving wife, Cindra Kay (Westveer) Ochsankehl; daughters Cassidy Marie Ochsankehl and Chrystina Mae Ochsankehl; his mother JoAnn (Decker) Ochsankehl; brother Mark Ochsankehl; sister Janet (Ochsankehl) Sayer; nieces Amy Sayer and Tori Ochsankehl; and nephews AJ Kerkstra and Cory Sayer. Brad was preceded in death by his brother Gary Ochsankehl and his father William Ochsankehl.
