Betty Anne Hughes, age 96, of Caledonia went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 7, 2024. She was born on August 26,1928. Betty was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Marie Day, and her husband, Edward George Hughes.

Lovingly remembering Betty are her children, Deborah Hughes, Dave and Becky Brown, Edward (Chip) Jr and Gwen Hughes; grandchildren, Trisha and Jason Meis, Meredith and Nathan Tobaben, Derek and Jayce Brown, Alisha and Cory Jones; great grandchildren, Logan and Audrey Meis, Violet Tobaben, Evelynn and Broderic Brown, McKena and Bentley Jones.

Betty is also lovingly remembered by her many friends on Marco Island, staff and residents at Sentinel Pointe in Grand Rapids, and neighbors from all over.

Betty spent decades as a kindergarten teacher in Grand Rapids Public, East Grand Rapids Public, and Kentwood Public schools. Through this career she has touched the hearts of many and made an impact on lives both large and small.

There will be a small family gathering later this month to honor and remember Betty.
