Betty Jean Blaisdell, a loving and gentle soul, made her journey to Heaven surrounded by her family, on April 12, 2019. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Throughout her life she was known for her wonderful smile and sense of humor. She brought joy to everyone who knew her. She loved the outdoors, watching birds, sunshine, and playing bingo with her friends. Betty was born October 1, 1921 in Grand Rapids, MI to Cally and Ethel Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard H. Blaisdell, whom she married August 17, 1945. She is survived by her children, Scott (Diane), Sue (Ron), Sandie (Vic), numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family wishes to express their thanks to the staff of Blodgett Hospital for Betty's compassionate care. They also extend a special thanks to her dedicated caregivers at Vista Springs Northview. Cremation has taken place. Please join her family for a memorial visitation April 17 at 4pm, with a service beginning at 6pm, at Ofield Funeral Home (4500 Kalamazoo Ave SE, Kentwood, 49508).
