Obituary

In the gentle embrace of the Lord's hands, Bettie Elizabeth (Sargent) White, a beacon of unwavering love and faith, has been called home on the 13th of December, 2023, at the age of 88. Born on the 26th of October, 1935, in the humble town of Pine Ridge, Kentucky, Bettie's life journey led her to her final earthly rest in Comstock, Michigan, where she was surrounded by the warmth of her loving family as she peacefully succumbed to heart failure.

Bettie's life was a testament to the strength and resilience of the human spirit. She was the cherished wife of Larry, with whom she shared a lifetime of joy and companionship. Together, they nurtured a family that grew to include their devoted children, Mickey Reeves, Brian White, and Mark White. Bettie's heart held a special place for her late children, Danielle Marie and Bart White, who preceded her in glory. Her legacy continued to flourish through her six grandchildren, Cyndi, Ryan, Sean, Daynette, Timothy, and Rachel, and was further enriched by the laughter of six great-grandchildren and the sweet innocence of two great-great-grandchildren.

The Lord called home Bettie's dear sister Flossie Hatt and her husband Larry Hatt, as well as her brother Bobbie Sargent, yet her memories will continue to be cherished by her sister Vonda Deaton and her husband Rock Deaton, along with a host of nieces and nephews whose lives she touched with her boundless love.

Bettie's entrepreneurial spirit led her to own and manage Suburban Meadows Home Inc., where she poured her heart into serving others with dignity and grace. Her work was not merely a profession but a calling, as she provided a haven of care and comfort to those in need.

Her life was a living example of a devoted Christian, and her faith was the cornerstone upon which she built her existence. Bettie's love for the Lord was evident in every aspect of her life, from the way she raised her family to how she interacted with friends and strangers alike. Her courage in the face of adversity, her unwavering faith in God's plan, and her loving nature were the hallmarks of her character.

Bettie's zest for life was matched by her love of travel, exploring the wonders of God's creation with an open heart and an eager spirit. Yet, no matter how far she roamed, her greatest joy was found in the simple pleasure of spending time with her family, where laughter and stories were shared, and memories were made to last an eternity.

As we gather to celebrate Bettie's journey to her eternal home, let us remember her as the loving, courageous, and faith-filled woman she was. Her spirit, a gentle whisper in the rustling leaves and a soft touch in the summer breeze, will forever be a part of the world she has left behind.

Bettie Elizabeth (Sargent) White's life was a melody of love and service, a song that will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew her. As we bid her farewell, we do so with the assurance that she is now resting in the arms of our Savior, where she will watch over us until we meet again on that glorious shore.

May her soul, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
