Bette, a long-time resident of the Tri-Cities area, was born in Sault Ste. Marie, MI to the late Thomas G. and Luella Emily (Roudenbush) Harvey on August 14,1934.

She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband and golf partner, James A. Schubert, her beloved son - Kevin J. Vokal, her adored grandson - Jason E. Holmes, along with many other family and friends.

She is survived by three sons: Frank E. Vokal, Thomas G. Vokal, and Robert L. Vokal; three daughters: Carla J. (Michael) Feehan, Jennifer M. Schubert, Kirstie B. (Paul) Schubert-Moser, and her daughter-in-law: Sueann Purchase-Vokal. She is also survived by her many grandchildren, whom she loved beyond measure: Jessica Crays, Virginia (Vin) Meloro, Amy (Michael) Correia, Andrea (Zachariah) Rocke, Shari Siddall, Traci Vokal, Toby Vokal, Troy (Rachael) Vokal, Brian Holmes, Danielle (Colin) Nichols, Joshua Vokal, Michaella Slater, Dalani Knuppenburg, and many great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews that she adored. A lover of music, bingo, rock-hunting, fishing, and thrifting, Bette was known for her spirited nature. She shared close relationships with her niece Kathy Warden and family-friend, Amber Burch; along with her former daughters-in-law, Brenda Vokal and Melinda Vokal. Her two life-long best friends, Bette VanderSys and Kay Frost, preceded her in death, and the three of them are no-doubt causing a stir together again.
