Berthold "Bert" Doser went to his heavenly home on Monday, March 14, 2022 at the age of 85 from complications due to Alzheimer's.

Born in Bay City Michigan, Bert learned hunting and fishing from his parents, Alfred and Hildegard. He spent a lot of time tagging along with his older brother, Manfred (or at least trying to). His favorite childhood memories centered around the much-loved family Cabin. Located just outside the town of Atlanta, Michigan, it was hand built by his parents, his older brother, and Bert in the 1940s. Throughout his life, Bert frequently shared stories of it's construction and a lifetime of memories spent there.

Bert obtained his degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan and was a lifelong Wolverine, an obsession he instilled in both his children and grandchildren. He spent his professional career at Ott Chemical, Sun Chemical, and Parke-Davis in Holland, Michigan. It was at Parke-Davis that he met his partner-in-everything and wife of 35 years, Ann. Together they formed a large, tightknit family comprised of children Liesl Ross, Roger Nienhuis, Rebecca Salas, Tina Wyngarden, and Erich Doser; grandchildren Marcel Delagarza, Austin Wyngarden, Aloriah Nienhuis, Dylan Wyngarden, Jacob Salas, and Samantha & Kady Ross; and great-grandchildren, Shaun Delagarza, Daxton & Ramona Wyngarden.

Upon their retirement in 1999, Bert and Ann traveled extensively, including multiple trips to Hawaii and New Zealand. They made The Cabin their full-time home before moving back to Zeeland, Michigan in 2014 to be closer to their family.

Bert will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and amazing neighbors. His wish was to be remembered at a private memorial of family and close friends. This celebration of life, full of love and laughter, will take place at The Cabin in the Spring with his ashes being scattered on the property. In lieu of flowers, the family requests tribute gifts be made to the Alzheimer's Research Association in his memory:
