On Wednesday, April 15, 2020, Barbara Jean (Taylor) Oster passed away at the age of 86. Barbara was born April 7, 1934 in Petoskey, Michigan to John (Pride) Taylor and Edna Kuberski. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Gordon Oster. Surviving are her two sons, Gary (Priscilla) Oster of Chesapeake, Virginia, Daniel (Donna) Oster of Hudsonville, Michigan; five grandchildren Seffren (Carrie) Oster, Adam Oster, Matthew (Katherine) Oster, George Oster and Geneva (John) Grant; two great-grandchildren, Eloise Oster and Juliana Grant. Barbara spent much of her early years in Gaylord, graduating from St. Mary Catholic High School. Gordon and Barbara married in 1954 and resided at numerous navel stations along the East Coast until later settling in Kentwood. For many years Barbara worked for Kent County Library System at the Kentwood and Byron Township branches. She moved to Byron Center following Gordon's death in 1996. Private committal services will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery in Kentwood.
