Obituary

Barbara Jean Moore, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2025, at the age of 80 in Grand Rapids, MI, following a sudden cardiac arrest. Born on March 26, 1945, in Harrisville, MI, Barbara's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and community.

Barbara, a cherished soul from Harrisville, graduated from Alcona High School, where she established lifelong friendships and a foundation for her future endeavors. Barb spent many years working on the family farm, working for the Alcona County Review, and finally, Richard's Pharmacy. First and foremost however, Barb was a loving sister, daughter, mother, friend, and wife. She exemplified compassion and fun to all that knew her. She spent many years caring for her own mother, Mary, and mother-in-law, Hazel. She volunteered her time at the local baseball fields, helping to raise an entire generation of amazing kids. She also raised her family to love each other, and most importantly, love others. She was so proud of her sons, Bryon, who served in the United Marine Corps, and Robert, who attended SVSU.

Barbara was an avid reader, finding Joy and adventure within the pages of countless books. She was a lover of life, cherishing each moment spent with her beloved children and grandchildren. Barbara's friends were an extension of her family, and she nurtured each relationship with the same care and attention she gave her own family.

Barb was the kindest soul, always considering the needs and feelings of others before her own. Her legacy is carried on by her loving family: her children, Robert and Lisa Moore, and Laura Moore, along with her adored grandchildren, Austin, Wesley, Hayley, Parker, Peyton, Olivia, and Jack (all of Hudsonville, Michigan). Barbara now joins her dear husband, Carl, and her son Bryon, in eternal rest with Jesus.

Barbara's passing is a profound loss to all who were fortunate enough to know her. We take solace in the knowledge that her spirit remains with the Lord, in the stories shared, the lessons taught, and the gentle kindness that was her hallmark. Her life was a beautiful example of what it means to care for others, and her impact will be felt for generations to come.

As we bid farewell to Barbara Jean Moore, we celebrate the extraordinary life she lived and the countless hearts she warmed. Her light will continue to shine in the memories we hold dear and in the love that will forever echo in the lives of her family and friends. Barbara will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. We rest in the love of our Lord and are thankful for His grace as we remember her.

Barbara wished to have a quiet cremation in Grand Rapids, where she will finally rest with her son, Robert and wife, Lisa.
