IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barbara (Barbi) Joanne
Lesert
January 21, 1960 – November 29, 2025
Barbara (Barbi) Joanne Lesert passed away on November 29, 2025, after enduring metastatic cancer with characteristic toughness, sarcasm, and grace. Barb studied Art & Photography at GRCC and Aquinas and she leaves a legacy of images that capture, with clarity and depth, nature's beauty and our most essential human moments. She was also an animal lover, a rockhound and beach glass hunter, a passionate supporter of music, and an unwavering Lion's fan. She was a talented baker who leaves many of us knowing we will never again taste a cherry pie or cheesecake as delicious as Barbi's.
Barb was a very social person with lifelong friends from school, work, and her many hobbies. Over the years, she worked at K-Mart, Steelcase, Trim Quest, and Ridgeview Industries. She enjoyed the game of softball, coaching and playing throughout her life. She was an active participant in the lives of those she loved, especially her many nieces and nephews. She faithfully attended their sporting events, races, dance concerts, and music performances.
Barb was preceded in death by her father William Louis Lesert, her mother Carol Anne (VanderWeg) Lesert, and her brother William Alan Lesert. She is survived by family members Vicki and Dave Gless, Brooks and Melanie Lesert, Maryann Lesert and Greg Lewis, and Erin Lesert, as well as many nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a celebration of Barb's life on June 20, 2026 from 1-4pm at Caledonia Lakeside Park (Open Shelter) to honor the people and the music and the warm sunny days that Barbi loved so much. Donations in Barb's honor may be made to a Humane Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
