Barbar "Bobby" Thompson, born on June 8, 1951, in State Line, Mississippi, entered eternal rest on February 5, 2025, in Wyoming, Michigan.

The beloved son of the late Nathaniel and Maeola Thompson, Bobby dedicated his life to service, faith, and music. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force before embracing his calling to ministry and sharing his passion for music even going as far to be a part of the Pilgrim Wonders in the early nineties and then the Soul Serenaders later. Through these pursuits, he touched countless lives with joy and inspiration.

Bobby is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Virginia Thompson; his daughters Valencia (Grant) Williams, Vanessa Marble, Veronica Thompson, and Tamara Johnson; his sons Charles Johnson and Robby Thompson; his sisters Vernesta (Donnie) Harris and Brenda (Anthony) DiRenzo; his brother Ricky Thompson; his sisters-in law Helen Presswood and Glenda Presswood; his brothers-in law Edward (Joyce) Presswood, Ricky (Julia) Presswood, and David (Margie) Presswood; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild, Shiloh King; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Ofield Funeral Home in Kentwood, Michigan. A Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 PM at the same location. Interment will take place at Pine Hill Cemetery at 1:30 PM.

Bobby's legacy as a veteran who served with honor, a musician who uplifted spirits through song, a minister who shared God's word with devotion, and a cherished family member will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. May his memory bring comfort and peace to all who mourn his passing.
