Atlas Kenyon Norris, born 06/09/18, was a star sent to hold up the worlds of his loving parents, Shelby Ann Kenyon and Daniel Ray Norris. Though we thought that all of the love he was showered with could hold him down here on earth forever, Atlas, 7 months, was lifted away in the night on 01/14/19. We aren't used to receiving gifts with time limits, but Atlas' love came in no short supply. He was given a smile that could fill your stomach with a million butterflies and a laugh that would remind you that you can always laugh harder. With such a strong name for an equally strong spirit, Atlas embodies what it meant to live. Within his last month of life, Atlas learned how to sit up, crawl and pull himself up to any couch or furniture that might be housing something he had not chewed on yet. His favorite toys were his plastic rings and his favorite activity was bouncing and learning to use his legs. Atlas, smothered in love by his grandfathers Corey Kenyon (Marion), Walter Norris (Grand Rapids) and Steve Titmus (Hastings), would tell you that he had met the funniest men alive. His grandmothers, Grandma Chris (Grand Rapids), Kristy Sherman (Hastings), Grandma Amy (Grand Rapids) and Grandma Connie (Marion) cornerstones of Atlas' life, showed Atlas and his parents the importance of family and unrelenting love. His uncles and aunt, Brian Harag (Chicago), Joshua Norris and Sarah Norris (Grand Rapids) could bring out his infectious smile on command. His support group was filled with loving friends and family whose children were even able to make the strongest of bonds in such a short time. Atlas awaited the days and hours he would get to spend in the presence of the loving energy they bring. Although it was our pleasure, little did he know that it was all for him. Atlas no longer has to fight off a bombardment of kisses, until we meet again. Services will be held on Friday, January 18, 2019 at 1 pm at Ofield Funeral Home (4500 Kalamazoo Ave SE Kentwood, MI)
