Arthur "Art" Lee Penny, of Kalamazoo, MI, entered eternal rest on August 9, 2024, at the age of 72, in Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI, surrounded by family.

Art was born in Kalamazoo, MI on January 26, 1952, to Stewart and Mary (Phillips) Penny. He drove semis for a living, which quickly became his passion in life, along with working on vehicles. He enjoyed having a cup of coffee and sharing his endless stories from life at Julianna's restaurant. He also enjoyed playing with his cat, Leo.

He is survived by his long-time partner, Cora Vallier, his first wife, Ruth Casteel; their children, Marian "Copper" Penny, Arlon Penny; his daughter Chelsea (William) Polmanteer (born to Delia "Ann" Anderson); and grandchildren, Andrew Emert, Ellijah Emert, BayLee Carpenter, and Jordynn Polmanteer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Stewart and Mary Penny; and his brothers; George Penny and Roy Penny; and Delia "Ann" Anderson, mother to his daughter Chelsea.

A celebration of his life will be held at Julianna's Restaurant: 2105 Lake Street Kalamazoo, MI 49001 on August 23rd, 2024, at 2pm.
