Art passed away at home after a courageous battle with base of tongue/tonsil cancer.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ed and Ruth Hedlund of South Haven, MI. Art was a beloved husband, brother, brother-in-law, son-in-law and the best uncle ever.

Art is survived by his wife of 26 years, Andrea (Scott) Hedlund, sisters Valerie (Gary) Ridley, Vicki (Fred) Reeves, Carolyn Hedlund and Nancy (Pat) Connor; mother and father-in-law Jerry and Betty Scott; sister -in-law Melissa BeVier (Dave Yeomans); nephews Ryan (Tracy) Ridley, Jason Ridley, Carl (Sarah) Dunham, Kevin Dunham, Tyler (Sue) BeVier and Charlie Connor; niece Samantha Connor; aunt and uncle Ray (Rita) Miller.

For anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Art knew that he followed no rules and lived by his favorite phrase "kick the tire, light the fire". Art had a love of all things mechanical and known in his family as the "go to" person that could literally fix anything. With his passion for knowledge, he enjoyed reading technical manuals for the various projects he immersed himself in throughout his life.

Art was an accomplished airplane pilot and mechanic who loved to not only fly but restore damage airplanes. He also had a passion and talent for wood working. He enjoyed travelling with his wife and friends to anywhere in the Caribbean.

Art will be deeply missed by his family and friends. For those who Art loved, he was very generous with not only his time but loved to shower them with unique gifts.

Cremation has taken place with no funeral planned at this time.
