Obituary

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Arnulfo Aguillon-Trejo.
Arnulfo, age 79, departed this world on December 23, 2023, surrounded by friends and family in
the comforting embrace of his daughter's home. While we celebrate the rich tapestry of his life,
we also acknowledge the profound impact he had on the lives he touched, carrying a weight of
compassion, wisdom, and love.

Eldest son of the late Felipa Trejo and Ernesto Aguillon, Arnulfo was born on August 12, 1944
in Queretaro, Mexico. He was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, and friend. His life was a
testament to resilience, kindness, and a deep commitment to the well-being of those around
him.

Known for his wonderful sense of humor, positivity, and loving nature, Arnulfo had a unique
ability to brighten any room he entered. A dedicated family man, he navigated through various
roles over the course of his lifetime—serving as a police officer, miner, dock worker, a farmer at
El Rancho de Cristo, laboring as a migrant worker and the list goes on. His strong work ethic
and willingness to go above and beyond were traits admired by all who worked alongside him.
By far, his most cherished role was that of the chief of his family. He was devoted to his family.
Arnulfo cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. His unwavering commitment to
family values served as a guiding light for all who had the privilege of sharing in his life. Arnulfo's
absence leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.

At the youthful age of 21, Arnulfo embarked on the journey of marriage, exchanging vows in
June of 1965 inside Valles San Luis Potosí, México. With vigor and a spirit full of promise, he
embraced the responsibilities of matrimony, laying the foundation for a life marked by love,
commitment, and the joy of building a family.

In 1993, Arnulfo gave his life to our God and holy father when he was baptized by Eduardo
Valdez in our Adventist church. A moment of profound significance that helped shape the rest of
his journey. As a man of faith his commitment to family extended beyond the tangible,
embracing the spiritual bonds that enriched the lives of those he held.

Arnulfo found joy in simple pleasures—hunting, long walks, and hours spent fishing. His love for
collecting nicknacks, hats and watches reflected his appreciation for life's varied treasures.
Always seeking to stay busy, he had a knack for fixing things and finding purpose in each task.
Arnulfo is survived by his loving wife, Petra Bacilia Aguillon, and their three sons, Arturo, Jose,
and Concepcion, followed by their two daughters, Maria and Anna. His legacy extends to 14
grandchildren and 5 great-grandbabies, all of whom carry a piece of his warmth and love with
them. As we unite in reflection to bid farewell to Arnulfo Aguillon-Trejo, we also join in
commemorating a life richly lived—a life distinguished by love, determination, and an
unwavering dedication to family.

May his soul rest in peace, and may the memories of his love and laughter provide comfort to
those who mourn his passing.

A Celebration of Life will be held on December 27, 2023 at Monte De Sion Sevent-Day Adventist Church from 5-7pm. 235 28th Street South-East Grand Rapids, Michigan 49548.
