April Louise (Austin) Mason, age 42, of Kentwood, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2023. She was born on April 10, 1981, to Paul Swidwa and Diane Austin in Grand Rapids.

April was an amazing person who cared deeply for her friends and family. She was the glue that always made sure everyone stuck together. She had a giving heart and gave her love to the world. She enjoyed working with children and was a caregiver to all. April was a very spiritual person who loved nature. She was extremely artistic, loved gemstones, and knew all there was to know about astrology.

She will be deeply missed by her parents: Paul (Mary) Swidwa and Diane Austin; three children: Collyn (Brookelyn), Noah, and Mikah; ex-husband, Brian Mason; unborn grandson, Nymir; sister, Macie Swidwa; special cousin, Becky Schell; step-siblings: Melissa (Kevin) Brown, Kristen (Win) Boon, and Michael (Lauren) Klompstra; as well as many other close family and friends that loved her.  She was preceded in death by aunts, uncles, and her close friend, Oscar.

A funeral service to celebrate April's life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo Ave SE, Kentwood, MI, 49508, with Pastor Sean Kidd officiating. A visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
