With unimaginable sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved grandson, Anthony Michael VanHees, age 34, who was tragically taken from us on December 17, 2025 by a hit and run driver in Bangor, MI.

Anthony was the sweetest, most kind-hearted young man, with a gentle spirit that touched everyone who knew him. He had already faced a great adversity in his life having survived a brain aneurysm with remarkable courage and strength. Through it all, he remained loving, compassionate, and full of grace.

Anthony is survived by his parents Jacquelyne and (the late) Tony VanHees. Brother of Jacob (Madison) Skylar (Cody) and (the late) Matthew. Grandson of Bob and Sandy Bean and many Aunts and Uncles and cousins.

Anthony spent his summers while growing up Harbor Springs at his grandparents home on W. 3rd. His favorite place ever. He loved playing tennis, swimming, fishing, boating, and skateboarding while having summer jobs at a few of the local restaurants.

There will be a celebration of life for Anthony in the spring. Please pray we find the person who is responsible for this tragic event.
