Ann Maria Piet Anderson, age 88, died peacefully at home on January 30, 2026. She was born December 10, 1937, the eldest child of Henry and Bertha Bos of Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Upon graduation from Calvin College–Blodgett Memorial Hospital School of Nursing (1958) Ann began her service as a registered nurse using her passion and skills in various settings such as a surgical, ICU, home care, oncology, school nurse, Hospice, and as a parish nurse for over fifty years. After her retirement she continued to be involved in the profession as a member of the Holland Hospital ethics board, parish nursing, and the Holland Free Health Clinic.
Ann was an active member of the global faith community. She studied at Western Theological Seminary, served as a missionary in Nepal and Japan, championed the Parish Nursing program and the Pamper and Prayer Foot Clinic and was an active member of Hope Church.
Ann was preceded in death by her second husband John Piet, third husband Ed Anderson, her parents, and her siblings Jim Bos and Ruthi (Gary) Kuipers. She is survived by her two sons Mark (Colleen) Bajema, Chris (Sandy) Bajema, and Cindy (Terry) Holliday as well as twelve grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, sister Ellen (Dave) Vellenga, brother-in-law Gary Kuipers. In addition, when she married John Piet in 1983 she added two step sons John Jr and David Piet. Later, in 1997 Ann married Ed Anderson and gained step children Ruth (Paul) Parks, Erik (Londa) Laura Atkin and their families. Ann took delight in the many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and a nephew who enriched her life.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26 at 10:00 a.m. at Hope Church, Holland Michigan. The memorial service will then be held at 11:00 a.m. Attendees are invited to a reception afterward at Hope Church.
