IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anita Burdette
Isaac
March 29, 1926 – September 13, 2024
Anita Burdette Isaac passed away peacefully in Grand Rapids, MI, on Sept 13, 2024 at the age of 98.
Anita (or "Burdette" as she was know by many) was born on March 29, 1926, in Winger, MN, to Bennie and Sophie Moen. She was raised on a farm in a large Norwegian community. She graduated high school from the Northwest Agricultural College in Crookston, MN, and later attended business college. She loved music and was a great singer, played piano fluently by ear, and often sang solos at church and other events.
Anita was a long-time resident of Muskegon, MI. She raised five children and was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her parents and brothers Henry (Edna) Moen and Elmer (Lois) Moen lived close by and played a big part in her life, resulting in huge family gatherings for holidays and regular trips to the lake for swimming and water-skiing. She was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir and performed solos. She was an extremely hard worker. She retired from Alexander Grant & Co in 1992.
Anita was a huge animal lover, having several dogs throughout her lifetime. She also loved watching and feeding the birds (and the squirrels!). And she enjoyed planting flowers in the yard and playing cards.
She is preceded in death by her husband Leonard Francis Isaac; her parents and brothers; and daughters Anita Ann Isaac and Constance Marie Kohl. She is survived by children Leonard Francis Isaac, Jr; Patricia Louise (Ray) Patterson; and John Peter Isaac; grandchildren Anita (Nate) Benninger; Anne (Charles) Garwood; and Robert (Ashley) Kohl; great-grandchildren Ashley, Briana, Natasha, Trent, Stephen and Jordan; and four great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions to Emmanuel Hospice of Grand Rapids or to the Humane Society would be appreciated.
