Alice R. Rembert of Grand Rapids, Michigan, formerly of St. Louis, Missouri, age 74, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2020. She was born to Douglas and Eurvin Agnew on October 24, 1945, in Tupelo, but spent most of her life in Grand Rapids. Alice was the second of three children. She attended South High, and after that Alice went to OIC to pursue her career in nursing. After completion, she received her degree and became an RN. The knowledge Alice obtained, she shared with others to keep them healthy. Alice was married to Theon Rembert, Sr. Out of that marriage, one child was born-- Theon Rembert, Jr. After the divorce of Alice and Theon, Sr., they both were highly active in their son's life. Alice loved to read and she loved to take trips to different places. She enjoyed playing cards, BINGO, listening to music and cooking. After Alice became ill, for several years she enjoyed watching TV and eating. Alice is survived by her ex-husband, Theon Rembert, Sr.; her only child, Theon Rembert, Jr.; older brother Myles Agnew; young brother Oliver Agnew; a special sister-in-law Elaine (Blakley) Agnew; a special first cousin, Pauline Blakely and a host of other second cousins; grandchildren, Armonde Rembert of Miami, Florida, Armonde Rembert of Phoenix, AZ, Candice Vance of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Destinee Guiton of Grand Rapids, Sumer Guiton of Grand Rapids, Courtney Welch of Grand Rapids, Daejona (Dae Dae) Welch of Grand Rapids. A host of several great-grandchildren; very best friend of over fifty years, Gealdine Brownridge; special friends, Aneace (Gwen) Goodman Tolliver, Alicia Jones, Willow Dean Williams and Carolyn Jackson; daughter-in-law Bridgette (Jones) Rembert; nieces and nephews, Sandy Agnew of Washington, DC, Angela Ewing of Grand Rapids, Tracy (Agnew) Small of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Myles (Cadillac) Agnew of Grand Rapids, Savoy Agnew of Grand Rapids, Lisa Brooks of Chicago, Illinois, and Tonjay Brooks of Grand Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents, Douglas and Eurvin Agnew. The family would like to thank SKLD of Wyoming, Grace Hospice, Visiting Physicians Association of Grand Rapids, Area Agency on Aging, Elders' Helpers, Mom's Meals, Meals on Wheels, and Nurse Cora of Grace Hospice. The memorial service for Alice will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo Avenue SE, Kentwood, MI 49508. There will be a one-hour visitation prior to the service. The eulogy will be given by Pastor Michael Small. "Granny, the time I've spent with you was joyful. You always made me feel special, especially when I was a little girl. I loved our talks as a grown woman. You've taught me a lot and I'm going to miss you so much, words can't explain!!!
