Agnes Maria Kiry, age 77, of Dorr, MI, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Born on November 5, 1946, in the historic city of Nijmegen, Netherlands, she immigrated to the United States with her family at the age of 14.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; Nicholaas and Evelien Busser; in-laws, Carlos and Wana Kiry; sister, Evelyn Hortsmanshof; brother-in-law, William Baxter; nephew, Clare Hortsmanshof and son-in-law, Devon Jackson.
She is survived and will forever be cherished by her husband of 57 years, Thomas Kiry, her children; Carl Kiry, Nicole (Craig) Washington, Monique Jackson, and Paul (Ashley) Kiry. Her grandchildren; Alex (Kailee) Washington, Kelsey (Sean) Woudstra, Mason Kiry, Kyla Washington, Riley Jackson, Justin Kiry, and Malachi (Jashiya) Washington; along with her nine great-grandchildren. Siblings; José (Frans) Vogel, Margarethe Baxter, Annelies (Richard) Deuel, Maarten (Bridget) Busser, Karoline Lauren Kiry, and Doug (Sue) Kiry, cousin, Al (Diane) Reijmer, along with many nieces and nephews; all of whom she loved and touched deeply.
Agnes found her greatest joys in the simple pleasures of life…riding her bicycle, spending the day fishing or sitting under a shade tree at the beach. She enjoyed countless camping adventures, taking her afternoon walk, and tending to the garden alongside her husband. She had a traveling spirit and loved to explore new places. Her hands were rarely still as Agnes had a great talent for knitting and sewing, gifting others with her beautiful pieces. Above all, Agnes' greatest passion was time spent when surrounded by her family and friends.
With an optimistic outlook, profound wisdom and a nurturing joyful heart, her perspective was much valued by others. She navigated life with a selfless grace, always placing the needs of others before her own. Her loving nature leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those she touched.
A Celebration of Life with be scheduled and announced at a later date.
