Obituary

Jane Rittenhouse was beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and, great grandmother. Jane loved to laugh and she would always tell it like it was, even up until the time of her passing after a long illness on February 27, 2016 at the age of 80 years old. Jane's passion was spending time with her family and friends, playing bridge, quilting, and traveling. She visited 40 different countries. She loved talking about her exploits and was a true adventurer. Once you met Jane, you would never forget her. She had the ability to make you feel welcome and comfortable as soon as you met her. There was nothing phony about Jane; she was truly a warm and wonderful person. Ada Jane (Jane) will be dearly missed by her husband of 60 years, Jerry; Children, Bruce Rittenhouse and Sara (Russell) Vreeland; Daughter-in-law Sylvia Rittenhouse; Grand Children, David (Danielle)Rittenhouse and Andrejs Rittenhouse, and great grandchild, Breanne Rittenhouse and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her son John Rittenhouse, her parents Maude and John Fry, and her brothers, Eldon and Emerson Brown. Memorial services will be held on March 9, 2016 at 11:30 am at Trinity United Methodist Church located at 1100 Lake Drive SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49506. In lieu of sending flowers, please submit a donation, in Jane's name to Hope Lodge in Grand Rapids or the Michigan Heart Association.
