IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Aaron Robert
Kerley
December 31, 1982 – May 14, 2025
Aaron was born on December 31, 1982, in Grand Rapids, MI to his parents David and Robin (Curtis) Kerley. He attended Wayland Union Schools and most recently resided in Grand Rapids where he worked as a house painter.
Aaron had great passion for his music, art, and LARP (live action role play) which all served as outlets for his creativity. He enjoyed sharing his love for music with his former band members (Goattillar), friends, and his brother Dan. He enjoyed a diverse group of friends within the LARP community and often incorporated his artwork into customs and LARP weaponry. He showed a strong commitment to his family and was a magnet for all his nieces and nephews. His calm, compassionate nature and his broad smile made all strangers feel like friends.
Aaron is survived by his father David and stepmother Kathy; two siblings, Dan and Naikia (Derrek) McKay, and five half siblings, Ian (Keely), Gabriel (Alexis), Ashlynn, Josh (Stephanie) Abts, and Nichele Abts. He is preceded in death by his mother Robin (Curtis) Kerley, his grandmother Betty Kerley-Holzgen (and Verle), his grandfather Bobby Kerley, and his cousin Johnny Kerley.
There will be a memorial gathering for Aaron's friends and family on June 7th from 2-5pm at the United Church of Wayland 411 E Superior St, Wayland Mi, 49328. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society in Aaron's and his mother Robin's name.
