(Alice) Joyce Thomet  April 9, 1935 - August 21, 2024

Joyce Thomet of Grand Rapids, MI, age 89, departed this world on August 21, 2024 to ascend into the arms of Christ and join her adored husband, Gary.

Joyce loved books, finance, boating, and swimming. She was an avid learner right to the end and enjoyed engaging others in any number of topics. Her current passion was evident by the pile of reading material stacked near her favorite reading spot. Her strong spiritual connection and faith was evident in her interactions with family and those around her. She and her family enjoyed years of boating at Hardy Dam every weekend in the summer, including eating her famous baked beans. Joyce loved walks in the woods, hiking the Smokey Mountains and taking each of the grandkids to Mammoth Cave over the years. She had a deep passion for nature, hiking, and exploring.

Joyce is survived by her son Kim and Terri Thomet, daughter Sheri and Steven Wills, daughter Shelley and Ric Froysland; her grandchildren Lee and Pamela Thomet, Joshua and Jennifer Thomet, Megan and Dylan Myers, Max Froysland and Ashley Delepine, Leah Froysland and  Adam Amos, Molly Froysland; as well as her great grandchildren, Lorelei and Leonardo Thomet, Abel and Eli Myers. She is also survived by her sister, Ellen Wicks, Gary's brother Glen and Sherry Thomet along with nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Thought Design Learning Studio, 10 E Bridge St NE Rockford, MI on September 29, 2024 at 2pm. Join the family after the service to celebrate Joyce's life.
